Samsung's 110" and 99" micro-LED TVs will be available later this month, more models unveiled - GSMArena.com news - GSMArena.com

Samsung unveiled part of its 2021 TV line-up back in January, including micro-LED and Neo QLED offerings. Today’s Unbox & Discover event brought yet more models, including some for the artistic crowd and some for your back porch.

micro-LED

Samsung introduced its first micro-LED TV back in 2018 – the humongous 146” TV (or bigger, depending on the configuration) dubbed The Wall. Now that the technology has matured the company has prepared three models more suitable for your average home.

Two micro-LED TVs – 110” and 99” – will launch globally at the end of March, followed by a smaller 88” model coming in the Fall. A (not really) tiny 76” model is on the cards as well, but there’s no concrete launch time frame.

The micro-LED TVs feature 4Vue (quad view), which allows them to work as four smaller TVs showing content from four independent sources simultaneously.

Neo QLED

Samsung has divided its Neo QLED lineup in two series – the 8K models (QN800A and QN900A) and the 4K models (QN90A and QN85A). The 8K ones will be available in 85”, 75” and 65” and will cost you between $5,000 to $9,000. The 4K ones will start at 50” and range from $1,600 to $5,000.

Microsoft chose Samsung as the Official TV Partner for the Xbox Series X in the US and Canada. To that end, Samsung worked with AMD to create the first TVs with Freesync Premium Pro support for consoles and PCs. The Neo QLED TVs can run at 120 fps with a response time of 5.8 ms.

The Super Ultrawide Gameview mode puts the TV in an ultra wide aspect ratio similar to a gaming monitor. If you need finer control, the Game Bar feature will allow you to adjust the aspect ratio, check input lag, connect a wireless headset and more.

Besides gaming, Samsung sees these TVs as exercise tools too – the Smart Trainer can use an optional camera (and AI) to analyze your posture and provide realtime feedback as you follow along with instructional videos.

By the way, a few months ago Microsoft was saying that LG TVs are the best way to experience HDR games on the Xbox Series X.

The Frame

The Frame TV has been improved. This artsy model is perched on an easel, but with the 2021 version you can use the Slim Fit Wall Mount (with five bezel options) to hang it up like a painting.

Speaking of which, the new model has 6 GB of storage for imagery (up from 0.5 GB), so it can store 1,200 photos in UHD quality. Samsung has partnered with the NAVA Contemporary, Etsy and others to offer a growing library of over 1,400 pieces of art you can display on The Frame. An AI will learn what kind of art you like and offer suggestions.

The Terrace

The Terrace is Samsung’s first outdoor TV. It is weather-resistant with an IP55 rating to protect it against water and dust. It is available in 55” and 65” sizes, plus the 75” Full Sun model (meant for use in direct sunlight it packs a brighter panel).

The Premiere

Not a TV but the industry’s first triple laser projector with 4K resolution. It has a minimalist design with rounded edges and a fabric exterior and it needs to be only 5” away from the wall. Samsung will offer rollable screens for The Premiere later this year.

Interactive display

The Samsung Interactive Display FLIP 75” is a digital whiteboard. It can be used in offices and classrooms by students or teams of up to 20. Previously, Samsung offered 85”, 65” and 55” models.

Audio

Samsung unveiled the 2021 line-up of Q Series soundbars with Q-Symphony tech. The Q950A is the industry’s first 11.1.4 channel system and promises to deliver outstanding 3-dimensional sound. It also supports voice assistants, including Amazon Alexa and Samsung’s own Bixby.
